- Whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and ground ginger in a small bowl until the sugar dissolves.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook for 3-5 minutes until fully browned.
- Drain any excess grease if desired.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and stir well.
- Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.
- Serve hot over steamed rice garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Serve over steamed white or brown rice for a complete meal. You can also add steamed broccoli or shredded carrots to increase the vegetable content of the dish.
