Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 ratio)
  • 2 Tbs salted butter (or ghee)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbs dried minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 Tbs all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce

Method

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and break into small crumbles.
  3. Cook 8-10 minutes until browned and charred; drain grease.
  4. Lower heat to medium and add butter.
  5. Stir in garlic, dried onion, and pepper; sauté 30 seconds.
  6. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  7. Slowly stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  8. Simmer until thickened to desired consistency.

Notes

Ensure you cook the flour for the full minute to remove any raw taste. You can serve this over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or with a side of crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
