Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp sweet paprika

Method

  1. Divide the beef into four equal portions.
  2. Roll each portion into a tight, smooth ball.
  3. Place balls on a plate and press firmly into patties about 3/4 inch thick.
  4. Use your fingertip to press a slight well into the center of each patty.
  5. Mix salt, onion powder, and paprika together in a small bowl.
  6. Season both sides of each patty evenly with the spice mixture.
  7. Cook via grill (medium heat), stovetop pan (medium heat), or air fryer (400 degrees) for 4-5 minutes per side.
  8. Remove from heat and tent loosely with foil.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure the beef is cold before forming to maintain texture. Resting the meat is essential to retain juices. You can swap sea salt for kosher salt if preferred. Avoid overworking the meat when forming the balls to keep the patties tender.
